{"id":377,"date":"2018-08-23T15:33:20","date_gmt":"2018-08-23T07:33:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wagf.org.au\/cms\/?p=377"},"modified":"2023-08-29T15:18:57","modified_gmt":"2023-08-29T07:18:57","slug":"gingin-creating-golfing-opportunity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wagf.org.au\/cms\/2018\/08\/gingin-creating-golfing-opportunity\/","title":{"rendered":"Gingin creating golfing opportunity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With a stunning coastline, rich expanses of agricultural land and a strong caring community, Gingin has plenty to offer as a town; now golf has become an inviting factor 67km north of Perth.<\/p>\n<p>Through the help of the WA Golf Foundation, Gingin Golf Club is moving from strength-to-strength with its new program initiative of \u201cGiving Golf A Go\u201d, a proposition that is proving more than adequate.<\/p>\n<p>Under the guidance of Rob Farley and direction of Club Junior Coordinator Kerry Fewster, a number of clinics for men, women and children were run to introduce the game to a plethora of beginners.<\/p>\n<p>Farley, a PGA Professional, took skill clinics for people of all ages, with parents and onlookers impressed by his demeanour with students.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRob has a fantastic rapport with all who participated in his clinics,\u201d Fewster explained.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-41605 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.golfwa.org.au\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/2018-Coaching-face-book-post-2.65-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"342\" height=\"345\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe presented his lessons on different golf shots to people with varying abilities, revolving around the conditions the course was currently in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Clinics are run twice a week by Gingin Golf Club and will continue until September, with Farley\u2019s influence in the June\/July period vital to the improvement of all players.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe clinics were very successful,\u201d Fewster said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll participants were impressed with Rob Farley\u2019s style of coaching.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis visit in July introduced challenges to the children and held competitions.
