Exmouth Golf Club was successful in obtaining a grant from the WA Golf Foundation to conduct coaching at Exmouth District High School in July.
The coaching program at the school involved students from Years 3 to 10, with 248 students participating over a three-day period. Of these, 208 were primary school children, and 45 were high school age.
Funding also went towards the costs of putting four Exmouth GC members through the Community Instructor accreditation program, which included a practical session conducted by visiting PGA professional Rob Farley.
While he was in town, Rob also conducted a free ‘Come & Try’ MyGolf junior clinic during his trip, which attracted eight participants.
The benefits of the WAGF-funded programs were swiftly apparent as 16 juniors signed up to take part in a six-week coaching program at Exmouth GC starting in September.
